Save Baldy
Baldy Restoration Project
In 2019 a community effort convened and facilitated by the National Forest Foundation came together to address concerns around forest health, fire risk, and insect outbreak issues on and around Bald Mountain (Baldy). Bigwood Bread stepped up to the plate and offered an unbelievable 10-1 match, resulting in $1,900,000 being raised!
The money will be used in a multi-year effort to remove existing standing dead and downed trees from the bark beetle infestation, deter new insect infestations, remove existing fuels to help prevent fires, and replant thousands of new trees to increase diversity.
We are so thankful to all who contributed to the $75,000 Bigwood Bread match, and thanks to all the residents of the valley who answered the call to save the mountain.
A special thank you goes to the National Forest Foundation who generously provided a special matching grant of $850,000 to help save our most important asset in the valley.
Ukraine Relief Fund
Providing Urgent Aid to the Citizens of UkraineBigwood Bread and its employees pledged to raise $100,000 to send immediate aid to the citizens of Ukraine. In addition, BWB and its employees pledged to match dollar-for-dollar up to $50,000 for all donations made through BWB to any of the organizations below:
- Doctors Without Borders – Ukraine
- GlobalGiving – Ukraine Crisis Relief Fund
- International Committee of the Red Cross – Ukraine
With your support, we have been able to raise $128,000.
Mountain Humane
Saving Animals and Changing LivesWe are passionate about supporting our furry friends and do anything we can to support Mountain Humane as they work to create new possibilities for homeless animals in our community.
